Frequently Asked: Questions & Answers

1. Will it hurt?

A little, yea.  But the end result is absolutely worth it.

2. What will my tattoo cost?

Dennis charges a flat rate of $150/hour.  He is available for consultations, and can give you a rough estimate of the approximate length of time required.

3. Can I bring the design I want?

Yes, absolutely.  Please consider, though, that Dennis is a professional artist and may recommend changes and/or provide you with alternative ideas that you might not have considered.  You WILL get what you want.

4. When can I schedule an appointment?

Either Dennis or Rachel can book your appointment.  Dennis is available Monday through Friday.  He does not work Saturday or Sunday.  He will make the best effort to accomodate clientele throughout the week.

5. What is the tattooist's style?

Dennis is a multidimensional artist and is talented in all styles.

6. Why is a deposit required?

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment because people have a nasty habit of cancelling, or forgetting, without notice.  This wasted time slot could have been scheduled for someone that would've shown up.  A deposit is a tangible sign that you are serious about a tattoo and ready to come in.  Your deposit is applied to the cost of your tattoo, unless you fail to show up... and in that case, your small, non-refundable deposit serves as payment for wasting the artists' time.  It's essentially a down payment.  As long as you keep your appointment, you won't lose any money.

7. How old do I need to be?

Illinois law states that you must be 18 years of age or older to be tattooed.  No one here is going to make an exception.  IDs will be checked.  Sorry, but that's just how it is.

8. What tattoo should I get?

You definitely need to spend some time deciding which tattoo is best for you.  Find something meaningful, or even just something beautiful that you like a lot.  It is a piece of wearable art that you'll have with you for the rest of your life.  Don't let ANYONE decide for you.  A tattoo artist can HELP you plan out the best tattoo, but ultimately, that's YOUR choice.

9. Is the studio clean?

You can rest assured knowing that the studio is 100% sterile.  All of the needles and tubes are single-use, sterilized, auto-claved, pressure treated, and sealed individually.  No needle is ever used twice.  Gloves are never used twice.  Everything is clean.  Everything is safe.
